Castaways at North Ave. Beach

Hmm...I didn't know it's still Spring Break 98? The last time I got around to hanging out at Castaways was when I turned 4. Not really my kind of place to hang out, but it was fun. We had blue skies, blue lemonades, blue water.

Not my finest moment but I hit on a married man. Didn't know he was married though, so I'm not a home wrecker. He played drums, looked like Jack Johnson...whatcha gonna do? This is what I wrote on a torn receipt and gave him.

Mike,
Kristine
I don't smoke.

Call me if you're over 21, not married, and don't smoke,
Bitch.

Leah or Lachlan took a picture of us with him laughing at my note as I decipered what my drunk hand/ tired arm from tennis wrote. I will post that freakin picture very soon.

The Banig

Me, Leah, and Lacha planted ourselves just off the lake at the Fullerton and Lake Shore Drive. We sat on the Banig...see, the Philippines is good for something (http://www.tribo.org/textiles/banig.html). This was a last minute idea, so we packed a few things from Eatzi's, some popcorn from Chicago Popcorn Works, German beer (no not PBR in a beer stein), and a bottle of red. Like I mentioned, we didn't really plan ahead. I mean, we almost wasted our time with sitting at Ceasar's on Oakdale and Broadway. I digress. So I realized I forgot my wine opener 3 blocks from home...3 blocks i was unwilling to backtrack. Morgan at Eatzi's was nice enough to uncork the bottle and place it directly in a wine doggie bag...I didn't have to pretend to drink the wine in the dining area. My apologies for coping an attitude initially. This is what warrented a text message to those few lucky friends out there: "Shark penis soup make you a better lova!" I think this came from the conversation we had about the female shark that appears to have self-impregnated.

Second Street

Yo

Bren and I walked down South Congress...If you actually call it SoCo, you're lame. This ain't LA or NYC. Cupcakes aren't big. Kolaches are...there's a place on S. Congress and Oltorf with a sign that says "Joanie loves Kolaches!" Anyway, behind this sign is an orange sign. See second picture. You can't read it. But it says: Loose Gravel, Yo.

Mt. Bonnell

I didn't get around to taking pictures in Houston. Sunday night, Kat and I sat around, talked, and watched the sun set at Mt. Bonnell. We didn't make out. (Although we did share her twin bed after freaking out from 28 Weeks Later.) Anyway, I haven't been back in Austin in 3 years. There are noticably more home in the hills. I miss this city.

MBA

Although it was difficult to get out of a comfortable bed Saturday morning, it was well worth it to see my BFF CWG Stephanie get her MBA. Funny, when we graduated from UT in 2000, we were relieved that our diplomas still read "The University of Texas School of Business" instead of one with the name of the car salesman, Red McCombs. Years later, Stephanie gets her MBA from the Red McCombs School of Business. Go Vikings!

Did I tell you that she's also a giant?

Bren's De Ja Vu Happy Hour at the G'man.

The Gingerman on 4th and Lavaca is not a friendly place for the Paparazzi. Actually, it's Dave who is not friendly to Asian Tourists.

These are just samples of our wedding pictures.

"Duarte loves cocktails."

Hook Em Class of 2007

So proud of my sister for graduating in 4 years...all the good times, good drinks, and good times. How fitting for the University of Texas...to have a bronze horse in front of the Alumni building.

My parents are awesome. They managed to get 2 girls through college sans MIPs, DUIs, sunstance abuse problems, pregnancies, credit problems, psychotic breakdowns. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Cinco de Mayo at Rodan.

Cheers to Lachlan and Leah. Manho lost a bet to Erin and now he has to pay. Clive Owen was in The Bourne Identity (see: http://imdb.com/name/nm0654110/). It's either a pedicure or a manicure, Manho. Which one is it? Oh, you want to wait until you finish your Bubbletini? Nice pinky.
